Ravens Roost 50 Foundation for Families, Inc

Since being founded in 1999, Ravens Roost 50 has strived to set themselves apart from other fan-based organizations.  We wanted to be known not only for our support of the Baltimore Ravens, but also for our charitable work within our community. In 2003, we registered as a 501(c)(3) organization which was named “Ravens Roost 50 Foundation for Families Inc.”  Through this foundation, we have raised thousands of dollars for our core charities, which include St Vincent’s Center, The Paralyzed Veterans of America, House of Ruth, and the Ed Block Courage Foundation.  In 2007, our foundation gave over $65,000 in donations to these and other worthwhile charities. As our organization continues to grow, we hope to be able to reach out to more people in our community.

  • The week prior to Thanksgiving, we spend the day bagging and delivering a full Thanksgiving dinner to over 200 families in the surrounding neighborhoods. During the week of Christmas, we hold a Christmas party for over 100 families that we have adopted for this event. The children are treated to lunch, games, a visit from Santa, and, of course, lots of presents.

  • Each year, Ravens Roost 50, along with many other roosts from around the state participates in the Maryland Special Olympics Polar Bear Plunge held at Sandy Point State Park. In 2007, “Team 50” raised over $28,000, which along with the other roosts, brought the Council of Ravens Roosts total to $125,000

  • Paralyzed Veterans from around the country come to the Carney Rod & Gun Club for a trap shooting weekend sponsored by Roost 50 and the Gun Club. Without generous donations many of these paralyzed veterans would not be able to attend this event.
